Newsom names seven to Arts Commission


Mayor Gavin Newsom has announced six reappointments to The City's Arts Commission: Pop Zhao, an artist whose seven-mile-long "Olympic Dragon" has been recognized as the longest in the world; Alex Lloyd, of the investment firm Rustic Canyon; LeonardHunter, art professor at San Francisco State University; Jose Cuellar, of SFSU's Department of Raza Studies and Dr. Loco's Rockin' Jalapeño Band; Larry Rinder, dean of graduate studies at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco; and Beverly Prior, architect. Newly named was John Kriken, a city planner whose work includes the Yerba Buena Center as well as many other projects in The City.
